Old fashioned chocolate fondue fountains can still be found in many antique shops. While many of them are not still in operating condition, you might get lucky enough to come across one or two that are. These are the old fountains that were the first of the chocolate fountains. Back when you could rent or buy one of these fountains, they were very expensive because they were not used except for the utmost special occasions. They are even more expensive now, because they are now antique, and worth more money being the first of the chocolate fountains that now ever so popular.

Many of the older generation might remember the old fashioned chocolate fondue fountain. If you were giving a party back when this fountain was the only one of its kind, they were hard to come across. However, you could go to a carnival or state fair in some locations and see the chocolate fountain at work. The milky smooth chocolate running from one tier to the next was something that everyone looked forward to seeing, and if you got the chance to dip a piece of fresh fruit into the fountain, you really felt like you were getting a treat.

Of course these are not working fountains that you will find in any museum, and most of them probably would not work if you set them all up and turned them on. However, the fact that the fountains do not work any longer is not something that is usually of concern to any one that remembers these fountains. Party planners of the older generation will probably remember the old fashioned chocolate fondue fountains and how hard they were to get your hands on for a party. Because they were so expensive, there were not many people that could afford them.
